How Lake Norman Precincts Voted In The 2020 Democratic Primary

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Before the polls in North Carolina even closed Super Tuesday, several news outlets immediately called the North Carolina Democratic primary for former Vice President Joe Biden. With 100 percent of precincts reporting in North Carolina, Biden captured 42.99 percent of the vote, well ahead of the 24.1 percent for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 12.99 percent for former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and 10.47 percent for Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Biden also performed well among voters in Mecklenburg County. In all, Biden secured 44.83 percent of the vote in Mecklenburg, followed by 24.34 percent for Sanders, 13.78 percent for Bloomberg and 10.18 percent for Warren. Below we take a look at specific results for Mecklenburg County's 13 Lake Norman area precincts in Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson. Votes are included for the top four Democratic candidates — Sanders, Biden, Warren and Bloomberg. Bloomberg dropped out of the race on Wednesday.
