Summary: Responsibilities of the Lead Installer include installation and repair of Pella Windows and Doors, clean up, and installation of window shades, blinds, muntins and Rolscreens. Also removes existing windows and doors. Use of hand tools along with ladders and scaffolding is required. Acts as the key point of contact with the customer on the day of install, takes final ownership of all onsite work and provides work direction to others on the jobsite. Principal duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to: Reads work order form and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material, tool, and work aid requirements. Key point of contact with the customer on the jobsite. Provides work direction to others on the jobsite. Removes existing windows and doors. Measures, marks, and cuts existing opening to appropriate dimensions for new products. Secures windows and doors to walls/openings, according to the installation guidelines published by Pella Corporation and within the quality standards established by Pella Corporation. Installs window and doors hardware. Patches drywall as required. Measures, cuts, assembles, and installs metal framing and decorative trim for windows and doorways. Cleans job site after installation. Communicates effectively with customers and serves as a reputable Pella representative on all jobsites. Asks customer to complete Certificate of Completion. Strives for 100% “Very Satisfied” customers. Demonstrates a commitment to the highest quality of work. Provide second measures and/or field inspections as required. Works in a way that prevents damage to product. Ensures that all product/material removed from the warehouse has been scanned by warehouse personnel. Ensures that warehouse personnel and/or material coordinator is alerted to any product/material returns. Uses, maintains, and stores company provided tools appropriately. This includes, but is not limited to, hand tools, power tools, ladders and scaffolding. Meets company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions and wearing required safety apparel (i.e. shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.), and reporting any safety issues to the manager. Must have a valid driver’s license and be in compliance with company Fleet Safety Policy. Must have High School Diploma, or GED, and dependable work history. Prior knowledge of general construction applications and terminology and/or window and door applications or components is required. Prior experience with power tools is required (i.e. table saw, circular or miter saw, pneumatic nail gun, power drill etc.). Familiarity with computers preferred. Expected to develop proficiency in Pella proprietary software (i.e. PQM, OSC, OMS, etc.) and/or company email systems (Outlook). Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good customer service skills (in person and via the phone). Must be able to present information, gather information, and respond to questions from customers, managers, co-workers and the general public. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent driving record, and available for periodic overtime.
