HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Huntersville police say they have identified one of two suspects involved in a Friday morning shooting that left a victim shot in the arm after a verbal altercation escalated.
According to Huntersville Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. June 19 in the 13700 block of Reese Boulevard when the victim got into the verbal fight with two suspects in a gold color Cadillac XTS Luxury. During the altercation, multiple gunshots were fired, including the shot that struck the victim.
"The suspects were seen leaving the area in a gold in color Cadillac XTS Luxury with a North Carolina registration plate of HFL-1751," HPD said. "The unidentified driver is described as a black male wearing jeans and a dark shirt with an unknown design on the front."
The car was later located in Fayetteville, police said.
HPS said one of the alleged suspects was identified as Mutassum Mohammad Awadallah, 25. He is currently receiving medical care at a hospital, and HPD has obtained warrants for his arrests on the charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a weapon into occupied property.
