CASTRO VALLEY, CA — An adorable Shih Tzu named Rocky is still missing, after he was stolen during a smash-and-grab robbery from a parking lot in Castro Valley Friday night. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft. There have been several reported sightings of Rocky since, but they area confusing. On Sunday he was reported running free and dragging a leash behind him, in the vicinity of the shopping center where he was taken. However, on Tuesday, a new report from the family said that he was spotted on Interstate Highway 580 on Saturday morning heading in the direction of Pleasanton. Rocky is a 12-pound dog. Aileen Pangilinan was dog sitting for her sister, Angie Maurer, and left the pet in her car when she ran into a restaurant to pick up food. When she came out minutes later the car window had been smashed, and both her purse and Rocky were gone. Maurer says that Rocky is family, and she just wants him home. Rocky is chipped, so if you find a dog you can take him to any vet or animal shelter to be checked. Someone stole this cute little dog from their owner. Pets are like family to many of us so we are hoping the person who did this will do the right thing and return the dog. You can do it anonymously with no questions asked. #stolendog https://t.co/Hh25gJJTy5— Alameda County Sheriff (@ACSOSheriffs) November 30, 2019
