Hilo Community Chorus Seeks New Director

The Hilo Community Chorus (HCC) is embarking on a search for a new Artistic Director. Tom McAlexander, who has directed the Chorus since its inception in 2008, has decided to retire from leading the group. McAlexander’s deep love for the Chorus has always been evidenced by the fact that his service was provided pro bono throughout the thirteen years of his tenure. With his retirement, the HCC Board has been tasked both with finding a new director and facing a new financial paradigm. As this will be the first time in the history of the Hilo Community Chorus that it has endeavored to find a new director, a new Artistic Director position description has been established, which encompasses such responsibilities as planning a concert schedule and program, preparing the Chorus for its performances, and conducting the semiannual concerts.
