Description
Guitarist/ Bassist/ Vocalist with recording chops looking to start a band that marries 90's noise rock, grunge, post/ punk or perhaps something totally different. Heavy, catchy, experimental.
I'm 35 and moved here six years ago from Philly, where I played in lots of bands, booked shows, ran a DIY venue, toured a bunch of the USA and made lots of friends, put out tapes, etc. After settling in here and (mostly) avoiding NYC Craigslist to meet new friends and collaborators, I finally formed a band and recorded an EP we were proud of, but Covid derailed our lives and the project.
Suffice to say, I'm more than ready to get back to work and play shows. Got good gear, a car, rent for a practice space, home recording setup. Primary goals: Write, practice at least once a week, record, release, play, enjoy. AKA Band 101. Got a full-time 9-5 job, but not some NYC workaholic. Plenty of PTO time for a long weekend tour or more when the time comes. I could go in different styles and directions as long as it's authentic to the project. Would rather build something from the ground up than be a hired a gun. Got two years worth of ideas on a hard drive.
Influences include but not limited to: The Jesus Lizard, The Birthday Party, Unsane, My Disco, Drive Like Jehu, Bummer, Fight Amp, Roomrunner, Q And Not U, Hum, Slayer, Converge, Candy, Factory Floor, A Certain Ratio, Entombed, Weekend Nachos, Thou, Heavy Medical, KARP... the list goes on!
