Description
Please join ISM-Madison on Thursday, March 24th at Second Harvest Foodbank for our “5th Annual Volunteer Day!” Reminder: COVID-19 policies are always changing. Visit the Second Harvest site for recent details. Join our staff and other volunteers to help sort, label, or portion items for Care Boxes or pack Care Boxes of food for distribution to our neighbors in need. 01.26.2022 Public Health Madison & Dane County (PHMD) continues to issue a Face Covering Emergency Order in response to the high transmission rate of COVID in Dane County. In compliance with this order, all staff, volunteers, and visitors are required to wear a face covering/mask at all facilities (2802 Dairy Drive, 2850 Dairy Drive), at all times with the following exceptions: *While they are eating or drinking. *When communicating with an individual who is deaf or hard of hearing and communication cannot be achieved through other means. *This requirement does not apply to outdoor settings and is in place until March 1, 2022. VOLUNTEER AGE LIMIT REMINDER: We are delighted to welcome volunteers 12 years old and above to participate. Volunteers 12-15 years old must be accompanied by an adult. To ensure safety and fairness, this policy is not flexible. Closed-toe shoes and a shirt with sleeves are required. (Short sleeves are great - just no tank tops, sleeveless, straps, etc.) Volunteer projects are completed while standing and moving throughout the shift though a socially distanced break area is available for your use, as needed. Please call Becca at 608.216.7214 before signing up if you need special accommodations to participate. We may occasionally have a project that allows for seated work. You are invited to review the Second Harvest COVID-19 Protocol. COVID-19 Temperature Screening Policy Starting on Monday, August 10, 2020, Second Harvest will require all staff and volunteers to undergo a temperature check upon entering a Second Harvest facility, or at the beginning of each shift. Visitors also will be required to undergo a temperature check as they enter any Second Harvest facility. Temperature checks will be conducted via touchless infrared thermometers which will be mounted to the wall towards the entrance of each facility. While the thermometers are touchless, they will be included in our regular disinfecting schedule along with high touch surfaces. If you touch the thermometer, or would like to disinfect it prior to using, please use a disinfectant wipe to do so. If any individual has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher, the individual will be instructed to temporarily self-isolate. The individual will then take his or her temperature a second time using a digital thermometer. Second Harvest will disinfect the digital thermometer before the individual uses it, as well as provide a plastic one-time use covering, and the individual will be responsible for disinfecting the digital thermometer after using it. If the individual’s temperature remains 100.4 degrees or higher, the individual will be instructed to leave Second Harvest and to self-monitor symptoms. The individual will not be allowed to return to work or to enter any Second Harvest facility until: (i) at least 10 days have passed and (ii) 24 hours have passed since the individual’s last fever without the use of fever-reducing medications (such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen), or as otherwise instructed by a health care provider.
