Asphalt Foreman Operator Job Description An Asphalt Foreman will directly coordinate and supervise daily activities of concrete/asphalt paving crew and will engage in the trade work of the employees being supervised. Benefits: All employees are eligible for benefits first of the month, following 90 days of employment. • 401k • Paid Vacation • Competitive Wages General Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: (Essential Duties and Functions) • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of a small group of constructions workers. • Prioritize, delegate, and perform all work placing safety first in all things. • Record daily time, production, and site conditions electronically. • Schedule proper maintenance for all equipment with superintendent and shop management. • Confer with superintendent or project manager to resolve problems or to coordinate activities. • Perform the duties of all asphalt crew team members. • Perform general laboring duties when necessary. • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. • Utilize knowledge asphalt quality control measures. • Continually inspect work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns. Concrete/Asphalt Foreman Requirements: • Must be at least 18 years in age or older. • High school diploma. • Proven work experience as an asphalt foreman. • Knowledge of road and traffic regulations. • Ability to work as part of a team. • Ability to work on weekends, public holidays, and at night. • Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed. • Ability to work for long hours in all weather conditions. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. • May require sitting for extended periods of time. • Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus. • Able to climb ladders and to work at heights. • Able to move/carry objects up to 50 lbs. • Able to work extended hours. • Able to work in all weather conditions. • Able to work in tight quarters. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. • Work schedule is Monday through Friday Generally, 40+ hours per week.
