Van Goettling Masonry, Inc. is looking for a Mason Tender to join our team! This is a highly physical job, so you need to have excellent strength and stamina to stay efficient throughout your whole shift and be willing to work in the heat. We also expect you to have strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills. Education: High School Graduate Preferred Experience: 0-3 years experience - Mason Tender experience preferred but can teach someone with General Laborer experience. Tools: Should have some hand tools including floats, tapes, trowels, levels, hammers, jointers, edging tools, etc. Also knowledgeable on how to use general power tools. General Skills/Knowledge ● Must be able to follow directions given by the foreman. ● Must be detail oriented and a self starter, able to work without continuous direction. ● Must be professional with other crew members, foreman and other jobsite contractors and their employees. ● Must be able to complete tasks within deadlines established by the foreman. ● Must be able to travel generally within an hour of the Warehouse sometimes on a daily basis. Physical Requirements ● The work area outside in Florida is generally hot, humid and occasionally cold. ● Work is physically demanding. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stretch, crouch and work with hands and arms overhead. ● Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and routinely carry up to 80 lbs ● Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding, as well as work with hands and arms overhead on an elevated ladder and scaffolding. ● Must be able to work more than 8 hours per day and sometimes more than 40 hours per week. ● Will be subject to the varied job site conditions including rocks, strings and cords, uneven ground, trenches, sand, water and sewer pipes, concrete spillage, loud noises, dust and dirt. ● Must be able to see, hear and have the necessary motor skills and manual dexterity to complete the job. Mental Requirements ● Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate satisfactorily. Reporting Relationship: Mason Tender reports directly to the Foreman.
