Description

The Art of Seat Weaving This is your chance to learn how to put a new seat on an old chair or footstool. You will learn to weave the traditional herringbone pattern using reed on a small (approximately 9”H x 10”D x 13”W) pine footstool. David is an eighth generation East Tennessean and an avid history buff. He wants to teach you his craft so that you can bring that old family heirloom out of the attic or basement and back into the living room to enjoy. Who could be better to teach you the art of seat weaving than a “Weaver”? Minimum age to attend this class is 18 years of age. Gatlinburg is nestled at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in America. There are three entrances into the Smokies right from downtown. Gatlinburg attracts more than 12 million visitors a year and can grow to a population of 40,000-plus on any givennight.
