Plan and Produce High-Quality Videos This is the perfect class for aspiring filmmakers, YouTube creators, community journalists, or those who seek to bring professional production value to their home videos. This hands-on workshop will cover the basics of high quality video production with both Panasonic digital camcorders and Sony mirrorless cameras. Using professional videography gear, students will gain practice and confidence in every aspect of video production, including: Camera Operation and UsageThree-Point Light DesignSound Capture with lavalier and shotgun (“boom”) microphonesIntentional framing and use of camera angles for storytellingMidpen Media offers an extensive library of professional filmmaking tools for the creatives and activists of our community. Upon completion of this class, students will be eligible to rent our Community Journalist video production kit, Filmmaker’s video production kit, and our high quality digital camcorders. The schedule is as follows: Tuesday, April 12th, 5:30PM - 8:30PM Thursday, April 14th, 5:30PM - 8:30PM ABOUT MIDPEN MEDIA The Midpen Media Center is a community media center dedicated to the creative and activist communities of the Bay Area’s Midpeninsula Region. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that inspires creative expression and reflects our community’s local cultural experiences. As a local television station, we provide high-quality media resources and training to members of our community. Our services range from accessible media education to media production volunteering opportunities to video production equipment and studio rental. In addition, we collect local media and document local events to be broadcast on local channels 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 75. Since 1990, our organization has provided crucial access to video production and television broadcast opportunities for the local Silicon Valley communities of Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, East Palo Alto, Stanford, and other areas of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
