Sonoma County Based General Engineering Contractor is looking to add a Full-Time grading and underground Superintendent. RCX, Inc. is a Santa Rosa based Contractor that works primarily in Sonoma and Napa Counties. Be a part of a team with great rapport to premier client list. Our projects offer great diversity, varying from winery sitework, to wetlands, mini-storages, hotels and commercial/industrial buildings. Superintendent Duties and Responsibilities • Read and understand proposals, and the scope of work that RCX is responsible for. • Become involved in job startup plan and implement the plan of action for work commencement. • Manage and control assigned projects. • Facilitate Pre-job meetings with all relative parties. i.e. soils engineers and inspectors. • Review the job with the Foremen and bring them up to speed on the scope of work and job specific tasks and challenges. Ensure the Foreman has an understanding of the project scope and budget. • Communicate to all field personnel the goals of the Owner/GC. • Promote and maintain a good working relationship with the Owner/GC, Engineer, Architect, and Inspectors. • Oversee Daily crew production and work with Foremen to help achieve the required production. • Make sure the Foreman informs you if there is a change in scope of work, immediately. • Notify the Owner or General Contractor of the changes in work as well as the RCX Project manager. • Communicate with PM or Estimator to aid in the pricing of proposed changes on jobs. • Forecast equipment needs with Foremen/Dispatch so the correct equipment is on the job and rental equipment is returned in a timely manner. • Checking with each Foreman as required, ensuring the efficiency in operations on each project. • Assessing job priorities and assigning employees to appropriate tasks. • Communicating with Foremen/Dispatch early the day before to have material and trucking orders placed so material is onsite. • Making sure employees have tools and equipment needed for job in order to ensure a good output. • Making sure safety precautions are followed including updating safety kits in case of any emergencies during the work. • Communicating with the crew both positive and negative. • Helping in training new employees and assist them as they learn new tasks. • Giving clear directions to workers as to what needs to be done to avoid repetitive mistakes. • Ensure company rules are followed by crew. • Make sure jobs are completed on time per the schedule. Identify scheduling conflicts. • Review plans and specs for ways to minimize project costs. • Review timesheets each day for accuracy and extra work. • Review extra work tags with Foremen to ensure accuracy. Skills and Specifications • Good pre-construction and implementation skills • Good communication skills with clients and other team members. • Good time management skills • Read and understand plans • Problem solving attitude, foresee issues that might become a problem as project progresses.
