Congregation Shomrei Torah is seeking a part-time custodian to start immediately. The position is approximately 15-20 hours/week, includes evenings and weekends and is subject to some variation. Salary is $16-$19 per hour, depending on experience. Please have two references available. General Duties: • Participate in routine and special cleaning of all areas within the campus, including offices, sanctuary, classrooms, kitchen, restrooms, and their fixtures. • Perform floor maintenance tasks including dust mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, vacuuming. • Cleaning bathrooms and fixtures, filling toilet paper and paper towels, running the dishwasher, cleaning up spills, vacuuming, mopping, trash, and some laundry. • Set up rooms for events and programs with tables and chairs, linens, dishes, and silverware, etc. as well as occasionally handling and serving food. • Turning on the sound system and plugging in laptops/phones. • Interacting with congregants and attending the building during events. Qualifications: • Must be able to work independently after initial direction and possess excellent people skills. • Must be able to interact professionally and courteously with staff and congregants at all times • Must have strong attention to detail • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of the job. o Possess skills in operating custodial equipment, maintenance tools and cleaning chemicals. o The position regularly requires lifting up to 15 pounds, including overhead, and occasionally requires lifting up to 50 pounds.
