The fact is that there is no 100% eco friendly automobile. Even bicycles have some impact on our environment. The bottom line is, electric vehicles produce a fraction of the greenhouse gasses that petroleum powered vehicles do REGARDLESS of how the electricity to power the vehicle is generated. Lower emissions is the goal. EV's achieve that goal. As a bonus, there are several other benefits to EV's: Lower maintenance. Cheaper fuel costs Less maintenance More reliable Quieter The biggest down side to EV's is that the world is just now ramping up to recycle the batteries that these vehicles utilize. The battery recycle technology is here, but not on the scale that we will need in upcoming years. I have personally invested a great deal of money in a company that recycles these lithium batteries knowing that the demand will grow exponentially over the next decade.
