HAYWARD, CA — One person was killed Monday afternoon when an Amtrak train hit a person in Hayward, an Amtrak spokesperson said. The collision happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. when a Capitol Corridor train heading from Sacramento to San Jose struck a pedestrian, Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said. The Alameda County coroner's bureau is not releasing the victim's name yet. No one on the train was injured, Magliari said.
