Hourly Rate: $17.89 to $21.37 / hour, Depending on Level The City of Covington is seeking Seasonal Maintenance Aid’s to assist in a variety of responsibilities that include tasks of varying complexity involved in the recurring maintenance, installation and repair of water, street, storm water, sewer, parks, and facilities functions of the Public Works Department. Operation of equipment, tools and vehicles is required to accomplish those tasks. Work is performed cooperatively, in a manner that ensures individual, co-worker and public safety. Limited office work is anticipated. This full-time (36 hours per week) variable hour, seasonal position is expected to last for approximately 6 months with the potential to be extended to approximately 9 months. This position is non-benefitted, with the exception of accruing paid sick leave at the rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. Start date is ASAP. This position is FLSA-covered (eligible for overtime compensation). Required: A High School Diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience that would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position. Two (2) or more years of municipal or government employment experience is additionally preferred.
