WAYLAND, MA — Here's what's happening at the Wayland Free Library the week of Feb. 21: ADULT SERVICES Cultivating Justice Toward Racial EqualitySince the death of her 17-year-old son, Trayvon Martin, during a violent confrontation in 2012,Sybrina Fulton has become an inspiring spokesperson for parents and concerned citizens acrossthe country. Despite the intense struggle of losing a child, Fulton turned her grief into advocacyand now lends her voice to speak against violence towards children and for the need to buildbetter, safer communities for all. Thursday, February 24 at 7p.m. Great Presenters: Ocean Exploration, 7 Miles DownWe gaze up into outer space, yet rarely consider the vast ecosystems contained within theocean's inner space. Wayland resident Rob McCallum has led a three-year program placinghumans in the deepest point of all five oceans on a mission described as the most significantexploration expedition in a century. Join us as he describes his recent dive to Challenger Deep,Mariana Trench (36,000 ft), a location that has never known daylight and is subject to colossalpressures of 8 tons per square inch.
