Press release from Chabot College: Oct. 16, 2020 Chabot College, the only community college in Alameda County to serve as an accessible voting location, will open its doors on October 31st. Following the mandates of Governor Gavin Newsom's Executive Order N-67-20 and Assembly Bill 860 regarding in-person voting, the Registrar of Voters is hosting 100 Accessible Locations throughout Alameda County. "As far as we are aware, this is the first time in history Chabot College has been an Accessible Voting Location," said Matthew Kritscher, Vice President of Student Services. "We want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote." Who: Chabot CollegeWhat: Accessible Voting LocationWhen: Saturday, 10/31 - 9:00am - 5:00pmSunday, 11/1 - 9:00am - 5:00pmMonday, 11/2 - 9:00am - 5:00pmTuesday, 11/3 - 7:00am - 8:00pm Where: Student Center Cafeteria (Building 2300) Safety protocols will be in place, including extensive training for staff and volunteers prior to voting dates, personal protective equipment (PPE) provided for all staff volunteers and voters including masks, shields, gloves and sanitizer in addition to following all social distancing protocols and safe ballot handling. Accessible voting locations will be available to all voters who drop off their Vote by Mail Ballot, vote in-person, need assistance, wish to do same day registration, and who need to replace damaged or lost Vote by Mail Ballots.
