The laughs are back at the John Barleycorn in Owego with Homebrewed Comedy on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5. The laughs are coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn Tavern on Wednesday, March 16. Kenneth McLaurin is headlining the show and Mike Terry, Jason Zongrone and host Mike Peters will be there, too. Seating begins at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. It's a $5 donation at the door, so tip the staff extra well. About the comedians: Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske, and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters. Jason Zongrone started doing stand-up in Utica, N.Y., in 2019. A member of Bus Stop Robot, the house improv team at the Uptown Theatre of Creative Arts, Zongrone animated a music video, “I’ll Be Home for Chanukah,” which was featured in WIBX 950s 2020 Christmas special. Mike Terry is an established comedian in the Syracuse scene. Quiet until he gets on the mic, Terry is a strong comic who's worked all over New York. A host at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, Terry was a finalist for a residency at Broadway Comedy Club and was a regular at the 'Cuse Comedy Showcase. He also co-hosts the No Name Podcast with Jax-On. Kenneth McLaurin has long gone by the moniker "The Funniest Person You've Never Heard Of," but because of the success of his freshman album, "Cuttin' Up, Comedy at The Shop," he now adds the title of most listened to person on Spotify in the Village of Ithaca. Witty, clever, Insightful and sometimes shocking, but always funny is what you get with McLaurin. Mike Peters is a comedian from Binghamton, N.Y., who produces shows throughout New York and Pennsylvania. He books some of the strongest talent in the area for an affordable price.
