Would-Be ATM Thief Foiled By K9 Officer

CASTRO VALLEY, CA —One thief tried really hard to steal money from a Wells Fargo ATM machine in Castro Valley Sunday night, doing plenty of damage. But his attempt was foiled, and he was arrested, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to an alarm at 9:15 p.m. The suspect was inside the ATM room trying to steal money. He refused orders to surrender. At that point, according to a social media post from the sheriff's office, "K9 was sent in and the suspect quickly jumped out and into arms of awaiting deputies."
