Press release from the City of Spokane: 2022-02-15 SPD responds to a drive-by shooting that results in the confiscation of a very substantial amount of narcotics and thousands of dollars in counterfeit money On February 6, 2022, at approximately 7:30pm, patrol officers responded to a drive by shooting at Nettleton and Rowan involving multiple vehicles. Officers located shell casings in the street. Minutes later an officer noticed a vehicle stalled at Ash and Francis and then witnessed two males flee the vehicle with a backpack and a five gallon bucket. The man carrying the backpack and bucket abandoned the items and fled over a 7' fence. The abandoned items were recovered by officers and found to contain an estimated 40,000 plus fentanyl pills and 9 kilos of methamphetamines bundled and marked. The abandoned vehicle was found to have multiple bullet holes. At this time the suspect/s are still outstanding. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Crime Check at 456-2233. SPD is working with the DEA Spokane District Office to identify those responsible for the sale and distribution of these dangerous drugs. The considerable influx of fentanyl and other highly addictive controlled substances to the Spokane area is a high priority for law enforcement. Large scale drug seizures such as this are becoming more common as we work to make the community safer for all.
