Leadership Prince William (LPW) is accepting online applications for its new Emerging Leaders Program, due before 5 p.m. on March 4. The 8-session course is designed for young leaders and will serve as a gateway to countless lessons and opportunities. LPW, according to its website, is a non-profit "whose mission is to engage and inspire individuals, organizations and alumni to enrich the community through collaborative leadership." It hosts other programs for more seasoned leaders, as well. The new Emerging Leaders Program is inclusive, and encourages applicants to embrace diversity. According to a press release, the program is supported by a scholarship fund that supports "Underrepresented Racial Ethnicities (URRE's), women, and members of the LQBTQ+ community" as they further their education. The program manager, Jesse J. Citizen Jr., is a retired Air Force officer and has served in the Department of Defense. His education includes but is not limited to a masters of Strategic Studies and bachelor's in Business Administration. Applicants for the program must be over 20 years of age, and have lived or worked in Prince William County or the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park for at least 1 year before January 1, 2022. Attending orientation and all of the sessions are required for completion of the program.
