BRAINTREE, MA — Parents, how do you think the homework being assigned in Braintree Public Schools is working for your children? Braintree Public Schools wants parents to fill out a survey to see if the school committee needs to make any changes to homework policy. "This is a very baseline survey trying to get some feedback from families about how at the elementary, the middle and high school level families are feeling homework is being successful or not so successful at home," Interim Assistant Superintendent Courtney Miller said at last week's school committee meeting. Miller said depending on the survey results, thy'll be referred to the school committee's policy and education subcommittee for review. Homework policies were most recently updated in 2016 at the high school level, Miller said. The last time they were updated for middle school students was 2011, while elementary school homework policy hasn't changed since 2007. Schools officials ask that parents who want to participate in the homework survey fill it out by Friday.
