NEW HAVEN, CT —The Ferry Street bridge will be closed until further notice due to a mechanical issue, according to police. It's not clear how long the bridge will be shuttered, but New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway asked that people "avoid the area." Shumway said police will provide an update "when the issue is fixed and the bridge re-opens."
