CONNECTICUT — Coronavirus-associated hospitalizations dropped to just below 400 beds in Connecticut, while the daily positivity rate jumped up a few notches overnight. The daily coronavirus positivity rate climbed over two-and-three-quarter percentage points since Monday, to 6.1 percent, according to the state Department of Public Health. The daily coronavirus positivity rate is a function of the number of tests compared to the number of cases confirmed positive each day. In the past 24 hours, 710 positive cases were confirmed, out of 11,688 tests taken. The numbers of tests and cases confirmed do not include those taken with at-home self-test kits. DPH has reported the number of hospitalized coronavirus patients in Connecticut has dropped to 385, down 21 beds since Monday. Of the 306 currently hospitalized with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19, 212, or just over 55 percent, have completed their vaccine series. Currently, the highest number of the hospitalized —129 — are in Hartford County.
