Press release from City of Fort Worth: February 16, 2022 The world is coming to Fort Worth. Every summer, the International Leadership Academy brings together Fort Worth high school students from around the world in the spirit of friendship, global problem solving and intercultural exchange. Fort Worth Sister Cities International is looking for participants for this year's two-week program, July 16-31. The theme, "The Art of Peace," will encourage students to explore how we see other cultures and understand global influences while using youth leadership skills to promote peace around the world. Students who participate in this program gain dynamic skills and enriching perspectives, enhancing college and career path opportunities through improved leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. Year after year, students who have participated in ILA do remarkable things – become fluent in multiple languages, study abroad, discover international career opportunities and become world travelers. ILA offers participants a unique opportunity to develop lifelong friendships and connections with students from Fort Worth's nine sister cities: Bandung, Indonesia; Budapest, Hungary; Guiyang, China; Mbabane, Eswatini; Nagaoka, Japan; Nimes, France; Toluca, Mexico; Trier, Germany; and Reggio Emilia, Italy.
