WATSONVILLE, CA — A man was arrested last week on suspicion of firing a gun into a home with several people, including two children inside.
Daneil Zavala, 28, reportedly spent his Valentines Day behind bars, the Watsonville Police Department reported on Monday.
Zavala is suspected of opening fire into a home on the 100 block of Hills Avenue around 8 p.m. on Friday.
Five people, including two young children, were inside when a suspect fired into the home, but no one was injured.
"Our officers and detectives worked quickly to identify the suspect, obtain search warrants and arrest Zavala that same night," Watsonville police said.
While officers served search warrants, they found a shell casing and a gun, which is believed to have been used by the suspect during the shooting.
Zavala faces several charges and is currently in the county jail on $50,000 bail.
