CAMDEN, NJ — Two female detectives are suing the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, claiming they were discriminated against for years and subjected to a hostile work environment, according to a report. County detectives Lakeisha Davis and Kathryn Gannon filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court on Monday, the Press of Atlantic City reported. According to the 57-page suit, Davis and Gannon allege they were subjected to a range of discrimination, including inappropriate comments, the Press reported. The lawsuit also claims a division leader used a racist and sexist slur to describe Davis, who is Black. Both detectives also allege they were passed up for promotions and given menial assignments because they were women. Davis and Gannon were both hired to work for the prosecutor's office in 2004, according to the Press. The lawsuit is requesting a jury trial.
