'Very Critical' Mystery Patient's ID Sought: Bay Area Hospital

OAKLAND, CA — Eight days ago, medical staff at an East Bay hospital began treating a mystery man for major injuries. Now, they are asking for the public's help to identify him. The man, who remained unconscious in the Intensive Care Unit as of Tuesday, was brought to Highland Hospital on Feb. 7, according to Alameda Health System officials. Patch was told the man was on life support, in "very critical" condition. Little is known about how he was hurt, but hospital officials said he was found on a sidewalk near a homeless encampment in the area of 23rd Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard in Oakland. The unidentified man is described as a white and 5 feet 7 inches tall. He weighs 189 pounds, has brown hair, and hazel/brown eyes. He has multiple "distinctive" tattoos, including: left fingers have the letters "J & J"left forearm has picture of the character Jack Skellingtonright calf has a skull with snake designleft wrist has the letters "PR."
