Palm Desert Resident ID'd As Victim In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

PALM DESERT, CA — A motorcyclist killed last week in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 in Orange County was a Palm Desert man, officials confirmed Tuesday. Nick Mendoza Reyes, 31, died at the scene Thursday morning after a white SUV struck a truck, then pulled in front of Reyes, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officials said Reyes was riding his 2022 Triumph motorcycle in the fast lane of southbound I-5 in Laguna Hills when he was fatally hit. On Tuesday, officials reached out to anyone who may have seen the hit-and-run driver flee the scene. The SUV would have damage along its right side, according to the CHP.
