BRENTWOOD, NH — Rockingham County Sheriffs, as part of an Operation Granite Shield effort, arrested two Portsmouth residents on drug dealing charges. The arrests, on Wednesday, were made in conjunction with Portsmouth police, the Strafford County Sheriff's Office Problem-Oriented Policing Unit, and the FBI Safe Street Task Force. The teams issued a search warrant of a room at the Homewood Suites on Portsmouth Boulevard after a two-month investigation of the distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl on the Seacoast, according to Deputy Chief Richard Sawyer. "The Seacoast Emergency Response Team was requested to conduct the apprehension of two suspects at the motel," he said. Bradford Sargent Jr., 40, of Portsmouth was arrested on two counts of conspiracy to distribute a controlled drug and three counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled drug. He was held on preventive detention. Jannelle Brown, 37, was arrested on three counts of sale of a controlled drug and three counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled drug. She was also held without bail. After the arrests, a judge authorized a search of their room where police seized "the seizure of significant quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, suboxone and U.S. currency," Sawyer said. Police also took control of two vehicles being used by Brown and Sargent and requested search warrants for them, too. Sawyer said additional fentanyl, other controlled drugs, and cash were also found in the vehicles. See more about this arrest, including booking photos, linked here.
