PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield School District 202 officials have opted to make Thursday an e-learning day for students "in an abundance of caution based on the unfavorable forecast."
Heavy snowfall will develop Thursday afternoon and continue into early Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches are possible, along with a light glaze of ice, Patch reported.

In a message to families Wednesday afternoon, Tom Hernandez, director of community relations, said all 12-month employees must report to work if possible.
Students are expected to resume in-person learning Friday.
