Concord Agencies Receive 2.1 Tons Of Food For The Hungry

CONCORD, NH — Fourteen social service agencies, food pantries, and churches received food last week to help keep the hungry in New Hampshire fed. The Capital Region Food Program, which has been serving Concord and 17 other communities for a number of years, delivered 240 cases of nonperishable food items to 14 orgs on Feb. 8. The items included canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, cereal, pasta, and soup. Pantries and others receiving food included the Boscawen Congregational Church Food Pantry, Boscawen Human Services, the CenterPoint Church Food Pantry, Christ the King Food Pantry, Concord Housing Authority, the Epsom Food Pantry, the Friends of Forgotten Children, Merrimack Valley Day Care, the Open Door Community Church, the Pittsfield Food Pantry, St Paul's Church Food Pantry, Suncook CAP, Warner Connects, and the West Congregational Church Food Pantry. The delivery of food last week was part of the year-round distribution project of the program. The food, as well as cash donations, were made by local and regional individuals and businesses.
