Press release from the City of Oak Forest: February 16, 2022 According to the National Weather Service, a potent storm system will bring a wintry mix to our area early Thursday morning, including at least a brief period of freezing rain. That will transition over to snow through the morning. Heavy rates of snowfall, in excess of one inch per hour, are possible Thursday afternoon into early evening. Winds will also be gusting upwards of 35 to 40 mph, which could lead to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
