Press release from the City of Long Beach: 2/15/2022 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEPress Release # 21522-2 Subject: City of Long Beach Issues Updated Health Order, Youth Sports Protocol Contact: Long Beach, CA - The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department) has issued an updated Health Order and Youth Sports Protocol effective Feb. 16, 2022. The updated Youth Sports Protocol revises masking requirements for outdoor youth sports activities. The updated Health Order increases the thresholds for Mega Events and removes masking requirements at Outdoor Mega Events.  Health Order The updated Health Order increases the threshold for Indoor Mega Events to 1,000 attendees and 10,000 attendees for Outdoor Mega Events in alignment with California Department of Health updated Mega Events guidance. Additionally, the updated Health Order no longer requires masking at Outdoor Mega Events. Masking is still encouraged outdoors at large events and where physical distancing is not possible.  Youth Sports Protocol The updated protocol no longer requires masking at outdoor youth sporting events and outdoor youth sports activities, such as practicing, conditioning and competitions.
