Limestone Canyon Nature Preserve Resumes Guided Activities

SILVERADO, CA — Hikers can once again take advantage of Orange County's Limestone Canyon Nature Preserve as the park has reopened after being closed since 2020. The park reopened this month after being closed in 2020 as a result of the Silverado and Bond fires that burned southern portions of Orange County. OC Parks, a county agency, and the Irvine Ranch Conservancy, a local nonprofit environmental organization, jointly manage the park. Before the park reopened, work crews "replaced the West Sinks viewing deck, installed new trail signage and improved trails that were significantly impacted by fire and firefighting operations," OC Parks said in a statement. "We are thrilled to reintroduce Limestone Canyon Nature Preserve to the public," Orange County Supervisor Donald Wagner said on the park's reopening. "I want to give a special thank you to OC Parks and Irvine Ranch Conservancy for their diligence in restoring the area after the wildfires."
