MINNETONKA, MN — The Minnesota Special Redistricting Panel Tuesday released the state's new congressional districts. Members of the panel were appointed by the state Supreme Court because the Minnesota Legislature could not agree on new maps following the 2020 United States Census.
Minnetonka will remain in the Third District and will continue to be represented by Democrat Dean Phillips.
The Third District loses Chanhassen, Chaska, and Victoria to the Sixth District. Meanwhile, parts of Hopkins, Coon Rapids, and parts of Edina and Anoka were added to the Third District.
"I'm going to miss representing the wonderful people of Chanhassen, Chaska, and Victoria, but can't wait to meet all of you new to #MN03 in Hopkins, Anoka, Coon Rapids, and Edina," Phillips tweeted Tuesday.
"No matter your politics, I will listen, learn, and represent all perspectives. Everyone's Invited!"
