GILROY, CA — The city of Gilroy is hiring a part-time water conservation officer to educate the community on water conservation regulations and laws, investigate complaints, survey water usage and cite water waste violators.
The position pays between $35.21 and $44.27 hourly. The officer will work under the Senior Civil Energy/Public Works Operations Manager.
According to the job listing, the role includes educating people on water conservation methods and regulations and overseeing water conservation programs.
Gilroy is under a Level 2 Water Supply Shortage Mandate, and watering is limited to one day per week with odd-numbered addresses allowed to water on Sunday and even-numbered addresses on Saturday.
