Description
LAKEWOOD, OH — Random Acts of Kindness Day is Thursday. To celebrate, Patch asked Lakewood residents to share the "nicest thing" a neighbor had ever done for them.
We received a few responses (and while we didn't include it, we did chuckle at the person who responded with "move") and we thought you'd like a dose of neighborly kindness on this Thursday.
Here are a couple of ways Lakewood neighbors have helped each other:
"I was going through a rough time, so she took me out for a day at the Westside Market and we checked out some little shops around there too. It was a fun day!""My neighborhood on Sylvan and Edgewater gave me strength and courage during the most difficult time in my life." If you'd like to share how your neighbor helped you, tell us in the comments below or on the Lakewood Patch Facebook page!

The small nonprofit's initiative caught on, was celebrated in New Zealand by 2004 and has since been celebrated around the world as a way for people to show kindness to others in small, simple ways.
Random Acts of Kindness Day is observed on Feb. 17 every year, regardless of the day of the week.
