Press release from the Iredell County Government: February 16, 2022 Date/Time of Offense: Tuesday, February 14, 2022.   Offense(s)/Charge(s): Felony Trafficking Marijuana by Transport                                        Felony Trafficking Marijuana by Possession                                       Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana   Location of Incident: Interstate 77 Southbound at Mile Marker 61.   Suspect(s): Hillel Linn Miller, 34 Years Old                    188 Ocean Parkway FL 2                     Brooklyn, New York 11218                       Hasaanul Haq, 29 Years Old                     402 Ocean Parkway Apt. 302                     Brooklyn, New York 11218         Sheriff Darren Campbell stated:  On Tuesday, February 14, 2022 deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff's Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team conducted a traffic stop on a 2021 Ford Expedition on Interstate 77 Southbound at the 61 Mile Marker for a traffic violation.  After stopping the vehicle deputies spoke with the driver, Hillel Miller, and passenger, Hasaanul Haq. While speaking to Miller and Haq about the traffic violation, the deputies based upon their training and experience detected signs of criminal activity taking place. Canine "Connie" was called to the scene to assist with the traffic stop. Canine "Connie" gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and located 145 pounds of Marijuana in several individually vacuumed sealed bags in a case in the the rear cargo area of the vehicle. The marijuana seized has an estimated value of 657,720.00 dollars. Miller and Haq were arrested on scene, and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where each suspect was charged with: Felony Trafficking Marijuana by Transport, Felony Trafficking Marijuana by Possession, and Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana. Miller and Haq then appeared before before Magistrate T. Thompson who issued each suspect a 200,000.00 dollar secured bond on these charges.  Hillel Linn Miller, 34 Years Old 188 Ocean Parkway FL 2 Brooklyn, New York 11218  BOND: 200,000.00 DOLLARS SECURED BOND.  Criminal history: Trespassing.
