PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix police are looking for the public's help in finding the drivers of two cars that hit a woman riding her bike in Phoenix on Jan. 29, killing her, and then drove away, according to police.
Virginia Tarango, 44, was hit and killed while she road her bike around 8:26 p.m. near 4300 W. Cypress St. in Phoenix, police said.
Tarango was headed north on 43rd Avenue, crossing Cypress Street, when a small, dark colored sedan or SUV hit her and drove away, according to police.
People who saw the crash tried to block traffic to keep other cars from hitting Tarango, but witnesses said a white Chevrolet Tahoe or Cadillac Escalade drove around them, hit Tarango and drove away.
Police are asking for information from anyone who might know anything about the vehicles that hit Tarango and their drivers. Those who have information to share should contact Silent Witness at 480-948-6377, or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.
