Looking for a Solid Drummer to Play Some Weirdo Pop Tunes

PRINCE! LEONARD COHEN! JONATHAN RICHMAN! NINA SIMONE! DRAKE! SPOON! I don't know that I write music that sounds particularly like any one of these artists but I think I might exist somewhere between all of them! Hi - my name is Yoni Gordon. I am a songwriter/performer and I am looking for a drummer who is interested in making a little bit of noise this Winter/Spring/Summer. Ideally you can get together a couple of times a month (2-3x), learn some of my songs, and maybe even start playing out if the musical chemistry is there! I write what I would consider to be pop songs, but as you can tell from the list of artists above, I am using the term "pop" pretty broadly! I like identifiable choruses, catchy melodies, and lyric heavy songs. But that said I am a pretty beat forward writer and I like to think that there is a groove element to everything that I write. I have been writing and performing for a really good long time, I have 10 records that I have put out over the past 15 years or so, and I have done a bit of guitar for hire work. Musical chemistry is more important to me than finding virtuosic players, but my writing is complicated enough that you should have plenty of playing under your belt. This is not the idea gig for someone who is looking to jump into a paying gig situation. I don't have huge shows booked, I can't offer guarantees, although playing out is my main goal. I typically play out when there is a guarantee though, so you should know exactly how much you stand to earn when playing with me. As you can imagine, shows are starting back up very slowly right now, and my overall preference is to play outdoors when possible.
