A 4 week series to build a strong foundation of breath & movement through yoga. Welcome to all levels of students! A 4 week series to build a strong foundation of breath & movement through yoga. Whether you are new to the concept of yoga or you have been practicing for a bit & you want to deepen your existing practice, this series is welcome to all levels of students. Week 1: 2 hours - Sat. 2/26, 11am In session one we will discover the roots of yoga, allowing time to discuss questions you may have about what yoga is or isn't. How to harness the power of our breath through Pranayama. A step by step guide on how to safely move through Sun A & Sun B. Week 2: 90 min - Sun. 3/6, 1:30pm Moving into session two we will build upon the foundation set in session one. Further deepening our connection of the inner & outer body through breath & movement. We will learn the standing series, moving through and breaking down alignment, tuning into our bodies creating adjustments to your own personal practice. Week 3: 90 min - Sat. 3/12, 11am In session three, rooted in our strong foundation we begin to find space to express ourselves in our practice. Branching into the world of binds & balancing. Seeing people contorting into pretzel like shapes and kicking up into arm balances can be a bit intimidating, even a little scary. Let's explore what it means to listen to our own body and create a practice that's safe for our own individual needs. Week 4: 90 min - Sun. 3/20, 1:30pm Flow into freedom. Yoga on the mat, off the mat and everywhere in between. In session four we will put together what we have learned into a full vinyasa flow with meditation. There will also be allotted time to discuss how we can practice the embodiment of yoga not just on the mat but also in our daily lives. Requirements: A journal, An open mind, Willingness to learn.
