Summer writing camp for students in grades 7-10, located on the campus of Towson University, hosted by the Hampden Writer's Group. The Hampden Writer's Group is hosting a summer writing camp for students in 7th-10th grade. This is a two week camp from 8:30-12 and is located on the campus of Towson University. The focus will be on creative writing and finding the writer's voice. The Hampden Writer's Group, publisher of The Avenue Journal for the past seven years, has been hosting critique groups, readings and workshops for over ten years. The facilitators are educators with experience working with both high school and middle school students. At the end of the camp, each participat will select one of their pieces to be published in a literary journal that will be catologued and available for purchase at bookstores. This is a agreat opportunity for students to hone in on their skills, stay engaged during the summer, work with experienced writers, and have a piece published!
