Join us for our Wednesday Walk, gather at the Vollmer Center
“Spring ephemerals” are woodland plants that leaf out and bloom early in the spring before the trees develop their leaves. After the trees leaf out, the ephemeral flowers are deprived of light and gradually disappear. But, they do not die. The energy that they gathered during their brief appearance is stored underground until the following spring.
This will be a gentle walk on the trails just beyond the gardens led by expert naturalist and CAF Board Member Beverly Davis. We will meet at Vollmer Center.
This walk is free to members. There is a $5 suggested donation to Cylburn Arboretum Friends if you are not a member.
Cylburn Arboretum Friends is the 501(c)3 non-profit friends group of Baltimore City's Cylburn Arboretum, enriching and enhancing the arboretum and our community in a variety of ways, and providing nature education programs for people of all ages.
