Description

Never been trapshooting but want to learn how? This free, hands-on clinic at the Lee Kay Public Shooting Range will get you started. The First Shots Clay Targets Trapshooting Clinic is a hands-on class for beginners who have little or no experience shooting clay targets. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is hosting this free clinic at the Lee Kay Public Shooting Range on Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to noon, and it is open to participants ages 12 and older. The clinic includes an introduction to safe shotgun handling, covers the fundamentals of trapshooting and you'll spend some time on the shooting range. It’s a perfect opportunity for novice shooters to learn exciting new skills and ask plenty of questions! We've partnered with the National Shooting Sports Foundation to host this event. The clinic instructor, Ed Wehking, is the vice president of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, and he is a certified shooting instructor with many years of experience. This clinic is designed for new shooters to improve their shotgun skills in a supportive, encouraging and comfortable environment. This clinic is intended for beginners with little or no previous trapshooting experience, and the number of participants is limited. If you are a more proficient shooter looking to hone your skills, please stay connected with us for information about more advanced classes in the future . What to expect: Dress comfortably. Most of the clinic will be held outdoors on the shooting range. You are welcome to bring your personal shotgun and ammunition, but it is not required to participate. We will have shotguns and ammunition available for attendees to use.Bring eye and ear protection; we have some available for sale if you don't have any.Participants 12 years of age and older are welcome. Please register in advance for this event. Space is limited! Questions? If you have questions about this event, please contact George Sommer at 801-698-9068 or [email protected]
