Shades of You, Shades of Me is hosting its Devotion Starts Within summit May 5th-6th, 2022 in Chicago, IL to radically change the face of maternal mental health for the better. 1 in 9 mothers experiences postpartum mental illness in their lifetime. Mothers of color are twice as likely to be affected yet only half as likely to receive proper care and mental health support. SOYSOM is hosting its second annual summit this May to raise awareness for the health disparities affecting women and families of color and to uplift the diverse voices of mothers in our community. “I want women to give themselves permission to take ownership of all shades of themselves and come to the conference without fear of judgment or shame,” Shonita says.
