Design and Dine Materiality of TileWho should attend:  Architects, Interior Designers, Specifiers, GCs/CMs, Owners/Developers, Agencies, BAC Tile Contractors. Location:  Neverman Floor Artisans, 102 Woodworth Drive, Tolono, Illinois 61880 Cost:  There is no charge for design and construction professionals to attend. Dinner and drinks are underwritten by the program’s sponsors. Education:  This program is registered with AIA for 1.0 Learning Units (LUs) including 1.0 Health Safety Welfare (HSW) LUs. IMI will provide certificates for self-reporting. Schedule: 5:30-6pm Cocktails and showroom tour. 6pm-7pm Dinner and presentation. Program Descriptions: This program takes a detailed look at the criteria set forth in ANSI and ASTM standards that establish the visual, physical, and performance requirements for the various types of ceramic tile. The program examines tile’s aesthetic classifications, its dimensional stability, and other factors that impact the appearance of the finished assembly. It also looks at the physical criteria of strength, water absorption, resistance to scratching, impact, and other loads, slip resistance, and other physical criteria set forth in the standards. Finally, the program looks at the performance of the finished tile assembly and how the visual and physical properties work in concert to provide a beautiful, durable, and versatile finish that will last for generations. IMI is a non-profit organization that delivers education and techical programs to the design and construction community on behalf of BAC contractors and craftworkers.
