Sausage Showdown is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the public to sample the house recipes of the area’s best wild game meat processors. We're excited to announce the 3rd Annual Sausage Showdown for 2022! Sausage Showdown is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the public to sample the house recipes of the area’s best wild game meat processors. Attendees have the opportunity to compare some of the finest processors side-by-side while enjoying cold beer on tap and live music at the city’s finest German beer garden. Wild Game processors from the San Antonio and neighboring areas will gather to serve their house sausage recipes and compete for the titles of best in category and the overall winner. Each attendee will be given 4 tickets to vote for the People’s Choice Award in each of the four categories: Dry Sausage, Link Sausage, Summer Sausage/Salami, and Jerky. In addition to the People’s Choice Awards, a Judges Panel will also pick their favorites in each category. The processor with the most combined votes across all categories will be crowned the Grand Master of Sausage. This event is fun for the whole family. Attendees do not need to be members and all ages are welcome. General Admission is $30 and includes 1 drink ticket. Kids under 13 get in free. All proceeds from the event go to support City Kids Adventures, an inspirational program based in San Antonio that teaches inner-city youth life lessons through outdoor experiences. Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation leverages public funds with private philanthropy to advance Texas' proud outdoor traditions and conserve our state's wildlife, habitat, recreational areas, and natural resources. Since its inception in 1991, the TPWF has raised more than $100 million to help ensure that all Texans, today and in the future, can enjoy the wild things and wild places of Texas. Stewards of the Wild is a young professionals program supporting the mission of Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. With member-led chapters in major cities throughout the state, Stewards of the Wild chapters engage 21-45 year-old outdoor enthusiasts by hosting exclusive events to raise awareness of conservation issues facing future generations.
