Description

Join us for a truly North Bay Cannabis Educational Experience. Visit and hold conversations with a cultivator, manufacturer & dispensary. The CannaBus Educational Experience Tours will be in the North Bay on April 15 for College Administrators, faculty, CTE and Workforce Development professionals. These tours will showcase three important employers in the cannabis industry: A grower / cultivator, a production facility and a dispensary. The day begins with breakfast of pastries and juice. Lunch will be provided and enjoyed during a presentation and Q & A session with cannabis industry subject matter experts. Cannabis and hemp have exploded into a multi-billion dollar industry that is expected to experience continuous growth. However, as seen in many other industry sectors, cannabis producers and retailers face labor shortages. They also have complex needs, questions and concerns about attracting, training, developing and up-skilling their employees' skills. As Regional Directors, Employer Engagement for the Bay Region we create a cross-sector initiative between three sectors: Agriculture, Entrepreneurship and Retail, Hospitality, Tourism (RHT) to focus on professional development for faculty, administrators and workforce development teams to support this industry. The day begins in Sonoma County, CA and will include a guided tour of CannaCraft, California’s largest licensed cannabis manufacturer. Guests will learn how cannabis is extracted into oil for vape pens, edibles, and tinctures. For the growing experience we will visit Flora Terra, an indoor cultivation site. Here, participants will be able to take an in-depth look at “vertically-stacked LED cultivation” by viewing the plants in each stage from vegetative, to flowering, to harvesting, processing and dispensing. A working lunch will include a session to introduce the group to the logistics surrounding the banking, transportation and security aspects of this field, all of which include many challenges and complexities. In attendance will be multiple subject matter experts for a lengthy Q & A session. The tour will end with a visit to Solful Dispensary with an overview of the retail side of the industry, the difference between THC, CBD, and the various delivery methods. The available tour date us April 15 for Administrators, faculty, CTE and Workforce Development teams. Each tour is guided by Jared Giammona, owner of The Sonoma County Experience, on an 18 passenger luxury bus. All County required COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.
